To my special boys.....

To my boys. I hope you BOTH know how very special you are!

So whenever you doubt just how special you are
and you wonder who loves you, how much and how far,
listen for the geese honking high in the sky.
(they're singing a song to remember you by.)

Or notice the bears asleep at the zoo.
(It's because they've been dancing all night just for you!)

Or drift off to sleep in the sound of the wind.
(Listen closely...it's whispering your name again!)

Sunny Day requires Shades

Girl's Night Out: Saying Good By to Isabel

All of us took Isabel out for her last Chicago dinner. Isabel and her family is moving back to her home country of Peru next month. It was hard saying good bye to her. I have known her now for over 4 yrs. We have had some good times together and what is hard is that I doubt we will reunite again anytime soon. She is such a great mom and a kind person. We will miss her, Paloma and Diego! We had a great turn out too. There were 12 of us that enjoyed a dinner of tapas and sangria at Cafe-Ba-Ba-Reeba!

Terrible 2's arrive 1 month early at our house!

What a little stinker!!!! Our innocent little baby has now turned into a very independent, curious, mischievous, tantrum thrower over night! Now I can say these things because I am Gavin's mommy. I laugh as I write this, but I don't know if I was in denial or what thinking that this day would not come. I just kept thinking he will remain this perfect little angel that won't hit this stage. But....the stage has been hit! Oh well, I wouldn't want it any other way. We love you Goose, but just had to post this!

T-BALL TIME!

Our big boy Carter started t-ball at the Eola Community Center this Saturday. Boy were there a TON of kids here too. Darrell was very "hands on" and made sure he had his eye on Carter the whole time so that he could see what fundamentals they need to practice at home. Carter had a good time playing. He did a really good job throwing the ball, but needs to remember to use his glove! I see a lot of baseball practice and games in my near future....being a mommy of 2 boys and a husband that "hopes" his boys love baseball as much as he does!

Mommy & Carter's Garden Party at Kensington

The frame we made. We used Carter's fingerprint to make a catepillar and some other insects.

Carter coloring me a rainbow butterfly!

I just love the program at Carter's school. There is always something fun going on. They also make a point to organize events that are geared towards families. So on Saturday Carter and I had a date! We enjoyed our special time together at his school. The theme was a Garden Party. So each room had a fun activity going on. Carter made me a noodle and flower necklace. He really enjoyed using the paper puncher! We made a pretty flower out of a coffee filter and markers and then got to spray it with water and watched it grow. We made a picture frame together and got our picture taken too! There was also lots of coloring to be had and story time and singing! When asked why Carter loved him mommy, he said "Because she plays blocks with me and laughs when Gavin knocks down the block!" You never know what he is going to say these days! It was really a nice hour together. I love being able to give both boys one on one time. I think it is important to do so. They are both unique and special in their own little way and I love to hear all the things that Carter is learning or thinking about. Thanks for the date buddy! I had fun times!

Our New Raincoats

My boys always dressed in the best!~ Just a cute picture of them sporting their new raincoats.

We have a Carter Frog and a Gavin Cookie Monster!

Hoping that all these April showers, bring mommy lots of May flowers!

Hop

Darrell and I took the boys to see the movie "Hop" today. It was movie about the Easter Bunny. It was super cute and both boys really enjoyed it. Gavin fell asleep for about 15 minutes of it, but loved every scene with the bunny in it and of course the scenes were they are in the candy factory. Carter sat quietly through out the whole show. A few giggles here and there in between numerous bites of popcorn and soda slurps! We tried getting Gavs in this picture, but he wasn't having it!

This brings a whole new meaning to "hide and seek"

Yep, this is where I found Gavin the other day. With his wha-bee of course too! Oh the life of being a mother of 2 very adventurous little boys!

WOOOOODY!!!

Mommy's handsome little cowboy. I have a feeling with Gavin is like 16 years old and I show his 1st girlfriend these picture he will want to kill me! But he is SO in love with Woody I just had to get these PJ's for him. Every morning he wakes up and says (in this exact order) A....Mommy? Woody? Car-Car? Wa-wa-milk!

Gavin at Build-A-Bear

Gavs giving his new puppy his first bath

Kendra and I took Gavs to Build-A-Bear in the Fox Valley Mall last Wednesday. It was a special treat for him because of his ear surgery that Friday. I let Gavin pick whatever stuffed animal he wanted. He decided to go with a Puppy. That we named Pup-poo. How original. Anyways, he enjoyed stuffing not one but 2 hearts in the puppy and watching all the "fluff" being pumped into the puppy. We then dressed the puppy in a surgerical outfit with scrubs and even a little mask and xray chart. How cute! Gavin loves his new puppy and sleeps with him everynight. If you squeeze puppy's arm he will play a musical lullaby too.
