1 Goose + 1 Mouse = 2 Sleepy time Friends

Hi Ho Cheerio!

Little Gavin sampled his first Cheerio on Friday at our playgroup. Needless to say, he wasn't overly thrilled about them. He scrunched up his nose and made some silly faces. Next on the list, is the Gerber puffs! Yum!

Gavin turns 8 months

Lil Brother likes looking at books

Our happy little guy!

Today our little Gavin John turned 8 months old. It is so hard to believe that he almost a year old. Time really does fly. I remember giving birth to him like it was yesterday. I vividly remember meeting him for the first time and be amazed at his beautiful skin tone, ever so long eyelashes & gorgeous little pouty lips. He had such a peaceful look to him. I knew right then that he was going to be a very good natured baby.
So since Gavin is 8 months old, I decided to jot down 8 random things about him you may not know!
1. Gavin LOVES to be tickled under his arms
2. His favorite game is peek a boo.
3. His favorite song is Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star
4. He loves to squak like a bird and make all kinds of noises now. He is our little morning alarm clock
5. He ALWAYS wakes up happy and smiling
6. He will only eat fruits. Dislikes all veggies. Every now and then I can get him to eat some sweet potatoes or carrots, but no green veggies. He loves pears, blueberries & bananas
7. He does not like carseats at all, but loves to sit in booster chairs.
8. He loves to sit in his room and play with all his toys in baskets. He just loves to reach in, grab something, play for a minute and then throw it down and grab something else. He will sit and entertain himself for a long time. It is so cute to watch how he "inspects" all his toys!

Mommy loves you Gavin! You are the best~

The Cousins

All the kids got together at mom and dad's this weekend. It was the first time Jacob and Gavin met. Carter and Lily had a blast playing together. And as always Kiernan and the twins were a HUGE help!

Big Brother=Big Helper

Carter is such a big helper when it comes to Gavin. In this picture he is showing Gavin how to sit in the booster chair for the first time. There are many ways Carter is a big helper at our house. Carter loves to help put Gavin to bed at night. He shakes his bottle of milk for us, turns on the night light, gives Gavin good night kisses and shuts the door. He will help give Gavin water toys in the bath when they swim away from baby's slippery fingers. He will get mommy a fresh diaper for Gavin and throw out the dirty ones. When anyone comes over to babysit, Carter will help them and show them were Gavin's supplies and toys are. Carter also loves entertaining Gavin by playing his guitar for him or playing peek a boo! Our little Carter truly is a great big brother to baby Gavin and we feel so blessed to have two little boys that can grow up together.

The "box head" is Carter. Haha. Entertaining Gavin

Baby Gavin got his 1st Ear Infection

Sad face. Poor baby. Tug, tug, tugging on his right ear. Yep, the nasty, mean ear bug got us! Gavin went to the doctors today and he has an ear infection. 10 days of Amoxicillin, here we come!

A Womanly Quote...

"Whatever you give a woman, she will make greater. If you give her sperm, she'll give you a baby. If you give her a house, she'll give you a home. If you give her groceries, she'll give you a meal. If you give her a smile, she'll give you her heart. She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her. So, if you give her ...any crap, be ready to receive a ton of shit."

Carter's 1st Day of Preschool

Almost ready to leave.........

Carter's classroom

Look who came to school.........Carter David did! Carter was one of the first students there too. We didn't want to be tardy on first day.

Carter playing with his classmate Paloma

Carter started preschool today at Creative Scholars. His teacher is Ms. Kathy. He will be attending school now on Tuesday & Thursday mornings. All the children in his room are 2.5-3.5 yrs. old and fully potty trained. He has been SO excited about starting school. This morning daddy cooked him a big kid breakfast of eggs and sausage before we headed off to school. Mommy, Daddy and Gavin all dropped Carter off at his new school. He brought Ms. Kathy an apple and wore his new personalized backpack from Noonie and Papa to school. Ms. Kathy gave mommy a VERY good report and said he did not cry and was a very good boy. He actually did not want to leave when we went back to pick him up!

Gavin: 7 months old

Our little brother Goose is already 7 months old now. So hard to believe. Well, he is definitely out of that "sleepy" little newborn stage. Gavin is moving around a lot these days. He is sitting up completely on his own and rolls around all over the floor. Recently he started clapping his hands. It is the cutest thing I have ever seen. He sure likes to give himself praise all day long as he just randomly claps for himself. Gavin also recently started babbling a lot. I call him Freddy Flinestone because he gets on these long rambling babbles and to me it sounds like "ya-ba-da-ba-doo!" It is hilarous. He says "dadda" and everything else for now is words of his own baby language. He is very verbal though now. Gavin is still a terrific sleeper at night. He goes to bed at 6:30pm and always wakes up with a smile and babbles at 6:30am. He is also really into the "drop a toy, mommy pick it up, Gavin drop it again" game. Gavin loves "eating" mommy's face, playing with her hair (yep another child obsessed with my hair) and playing with mommy's locket. His favorite toys now are his toy keys, toy phone, Jumperoo, the train table, Cody the Cowboy, Cookie Monster, Jeffery the Giraffee and books! I am sure it won't be long before our little guy is crawling!

Wonderful Waffles!!!

Thank you Noonie & Papa for our "surprise" family gift at Christmas. We made some yummy waffles this weekend and they were delicious!

Wishing you all the best in 2010!!!

Our boys "ringing in" the New Year!

2010 Quote to live by & 2009 Truths Be told

"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it is about learning to dance in the rain"
I like this quote and I am going to try and live by it in 2010.

Truth Be Tolds....
truth be told I am not sure there is another mother whom loves their children as much as I love mine. They consume me. They are my buddy's. My pals. My little peeps that I center my world around. Being a stay at home mom is the most challenging "job" that I have yet to have. It is definitely not easy and I don't think anyone that works "truly" understands how hard it can be. At the same time, I couldn't fathom someone else holding my baby's, me missing all their little milestones or someone else getting all their daily smiles, hugs and kisses. I am forever grateful for Darrell for this opportunity.

truth be told I worry too much. Just ask anyone that truly knows me. I am also a control freak, but I am getting better at this. I am "learning" that I definitely don't have control over a lot of things. For one Carter's "hehavior" at times and the world in general. I need to not watch the News and get over my fear of stupid elevators. I need to not worry so much about tomorrow and live in today. I need to "dance more in the rain."

truth be told I really want to move. I don't think I can stomach another year in our small condo. Darrell and I feel so trapped here tripping over toys, cramming thing in closets and storage units. We pray every night that the economy gets better and we get out.

truth be told my husband works way too hard and I really hope that he gets his "big break" soon. He deserves it and I am so proud of all his detemination and his humble attitude and wish people only knew what he really did for them.

truth be told I don't thank my mother enough for all that she does for me and has done for me. I don't compliment her enough and I don't tell her I love her often enough. She is the most selfless person I know. I know my Papa Lester is looking down from Heaven and smiling at her for all she does. She is the only one that really gives me the "breaks" I need from the kids. Thank you mom. I love you.

truth be told I wish Ildi & I lived closer to each other. I feel really bad that I have yet to meet her son Logan. And I hope that she knows it is not that I don't want to visit, it is just that we can't just yet. One day, we will. And we look so forward to seeeing her new home. She is such a great friend that I know she will never judge me and is always just a phone call away.

truth be told I love red wine. It is my nightly ritual. It makes me feel very warm and fuzzy. :)

truth be told I have great in laws. I really do. I just chuckle when all my girlfriends complain about their's. I just can't imagine.

truth be told I look forward to the day that Kevin and Kendra have families of their own. Although they are GREAT uncles/aunts I just can't wait for parenthood to hit them!

truth be told I really want to go to Europe with Darrell and travel. There are so many places I want to see and go back to..aka...Hawaii. I always feel so safe traveling with him and we always have a great time. I look forward to the day when we can get some quality time back.

truth be told I still really miss two people that have left me and have a hard time accepting their deaths. Pickle and my Aunt Leslie. I think about them all the time and wish that they were still with us. I miss Pickles outlook on life, all his great compliments he always would give me and most of all his smile and sense of humor. My Aunt Les, I miss her knowledge, her phone calls, her advise and just her. We had so much in common and I really wish she could have met my boys and been at my wedding.

truth be told I had an amazing experience giving birth to Gavin. It was so natural and wonderful and I was so glad to bring him into the world without a surgery.

truth be told Darrell and Carter are nagging on me to stop typing so I best be done. Yep, I had a whole 10 minute to myself now.

truth be told I love my husband, boys and everyone that reads my blog immensly. Wshing you all a safe, healthy and happy 2010.

Our New Years Resolution...IS....

to get 1 Carter Micheli out of our bed! Love you to death Carty, but it is looooong past due for you to be cooperative and sleep in your own bed. Gavin would love to have his roommate back! Mommy & Daddy really deserve a good nights sleep this year!

All Smiles......

I took Gavin to visit his Great Noonie at the Nursing home over Christmas. Noonie Jean has always LOVED little babies and got so happy when I brought Gavin in to see her. Noonie Jean just celebrated her 86th birthday and baby Gavin just turned 7 months old. No matter what the age difference is.....they both really enjoyed each others company. Happy Birthday Noonie. We love you very much! I only wish things were different and you really "knew" how much.
