DADSCAR

Last month Kensington Preschool had a special Dad's day for sons and fathers. They had it on a Saturday morning where they did a "Nascar" aka... Dadscar theme. Carter and Darrell had a very nice time. On a funny note....the teachers asked the children what they liked best about their daddy's. Carter's response: I like how my daddy dresses! Ms. Russell told me the next day, "Well at least that explains why Carter comes to school dress up everyday!"

Gavin's Ear Surgery

Our little Gavin had tubes put in his ears this Friday. Dr. Kaszuba did the outpatient surgery at Edward Hospital in Naperville. Gavin was his first patient of the day so we were there bright and early. 5:30! We could not have asked for a better hospital staff or a better experience. Although I had heard horror stories from other mom's about their children being so fussy afterwards we scored lucky. Gavin did an AMAZING job! He seriously was the best little patient ever. Even the anesthesiologist said so!~ Dr. Kaszuba told us the surgery went great and that he removed all the fluid from Gavin's ears. We are hopeful that this did the trick and no more BOO BOO ears :( It really was quite funny though right before the surgery the anesthesiologist gave Gavin a sedative to calm him down. Too bad he didn't have one for me! HAHA. Anyways, he said it is like the equivalent to an adult having one too many drinks. aka..feeling a bit tipsy. Well in less than 10 minutes after getting the medication we had one "tipsy" Gavin He was giggling and laughing and really quite out of it.
Good job Gavin! Mommy is so proud of you and how brave you are. XOXO

No more CRIB

Gavin fast asleep in his new BIG BOY crib with his BFF Ernie of course! Stay tune for more new bedroom pics once it is all finished!

Mommy's Buzz Light Year

Too cute not to post!

We love you Noonie Jean

Simply put..........a beautiful family picture, with a beautiful woman that all these great grand kids are fortunate to have met, but unfortunate to not have known her when she had her brilliant mind........

St.Patties Day Pranks

This year we had a riot playing Leprechaun tricks on Carter!! It all started at school when Ms. Russell played a joke on all the kids. She "pretended" that while the kids were at gym class a little leprechaun came into their room and turned all their chairs upside down and magically turned their apple juice green! Seriously Carter got more excited about that then Santa! So Darrell and I decided to continue the pranks at home. Rene even joined in! I told him that the Leprechaun from school must have hopped on the roof of our car and came home with us. That he is so little and fast that we just couldn't catch him! That silly Leprechaun turned our toilet water green, turned apple juice green again, left Leprechaun poop in Carter's shoes, a poop sandwich, and dressed Woody and even left the boys a pot of GOLD!!! St. Pattie's Day sure was a fun celebration this year even if we are NOT IRISH!!! LOL

Carter's Birthday Pictures

Carter Turns 4!!!!

Happy "Golden" Birthday Carter David!!! 4 years old on the 4th of March this year. What a very special celebration. It is so hard to believe that my baby is 4! I am so proud of him. He is not only one of the most handsome little boys I know (always dressed in his best!) but also such a bright, funny, prankster kid that loves playing hard and loves his family. Carter has blossomed into such a creative child with a brilliant imagination. And although can be a bit stubborn at times, he really does have a soft side to him. He is still very much so into trucks and train. Recently, he has become interested in sports. Football in particular. He is always telling me his is going to be either a football player or doctor when he grows up. He loves to color "perfectly" and can't get enough of Caillou, Toy Store (Buzz & Woody) & Scooby Doo.
We hosted his 4th party this year at Brunswick Zone a bowling alley/arcade. Carter loves to bowl so we figured it would be a perfect place! The party was super fun and Aunt Kendra topped it off with a personalized bowling pin for him. Everyone signed it and he got to take it home. He loved it. Mommy got him a Toy Store birthday cake with his picture on it and of course he got a TON of gifts! His BIG birthday gift though was his BIKE!!! We got Carter a brand new big boy bike. A very nice one I might add. It is blue of course and he loves it. Now only if the weather would turn nice so he can get a riding it! The day of his actual birthday, mommy, Gavin & Cassie (our babysitter) went to his school and brought in ice cream treats. Carter's favorite treat. Gavin brought him a BIG Buzz Light Year shaped balloon too for a surprise. The family then headed out to Red Robin for a birthday dinner filled with singing and another ice cream treat! That weekend as well, we visited Noonie & Papa's house and they had a cake for him and the Robinson's came over to play. Lastly, just this past week we had yet another birthday celebration with Carter. This one though, was a "group" party with all our city friends. We are still very much a part of that awesome mother's group from Bubbles that started when our babies were 3 months old. So we had 11 kids turning 4 years old all within 1 month of each other!!! What an awesome birthday celebration at Kid City in Chicago.
All and all I think Carter had a very memorable 4th Birthday.
Happy Birthday Carter, my love, my life. It has been an honor being your mommy thus far!
XOXO
