Carter and Friends

Carter and Jonah enjoying a juice box. Carter wearing Caitlyn's funny pumpkin hat!

What fun! Mary Meyers, Carter, Zach, Zach's mommy & Jonah

Typical guy....lounging around playing hard to get! I think Mary Meyers has a bit of a crush on Carter. He is too busy texting someone!

Carter met up with all his playgroup buddies on Tuesday and had a really fun time! Thanks Caitlyn for hosting such a fun party and letting us all play with your cool 50's Retro kitchen.

Hanging Upside Down with Aunt Kinny!

Aunt Kinny taught Carty a new trick this weekend. Yep, a hand stand.....and of course he loved it and wanted "more, more and more." Carter was lucky to have Aunt Kinny all last night to himself to play with while mommy and daddy enjoyed an evening out.

Belly Shots

Tomorrow I will be 23 weeks along. My belly button has recently "popped out" and I feel so much bigger than I did with Carter. Here are a few pics that Ildiko has been asking me to post!!! I took them right after I got back from the gym in hopes to not look too fat! HA! This little guy is really a kicker. Today I was trying to enjoy a nap when Carter was asleep and the baby wouldn't allow it. He kicked for 1 hour straight

Happy 2nd Birthday Luke

Carter's buddy Luke had his 2nd birthday party on Saturday. Carter had a great time celebrating and eating yummy cupcakes that Lukie's mom made!

Practice Makes Perfect

Only 17 more weeks and counting till Carter actually is a big brother. Today I decided to bring out his toy baby to play with. He practiced feeding him, giving him the binkie, huggging/kissing/"gentle" touches and even putting the baby night-night in his crib. We even took the baby for a car ride to Gymboree class today and he took his nap with it. It was really cute to see him so "into it." Let's hope this holds true when the real baby arrives!

Thank You Noonie & Papa for my Sled

Wait......I can sled and eat my Vanilla Wafer at the same time

Yep, still won't let mommy hold the cookie. Still in the mouth! Pretty talented child I must say

Feeling the snow. He told us it was "cold" but it didn't seem to bother him to much. He also tasted the snow for the first time today and liked it!

Daddy helped me make some snow balls. Then we threw them at the duckies swimming in the river. Poor ducks~

Well, 2 miracles happened today. Please note in your day planners.
1. It was above 27 degrees today
2. Darrell got home from work today before 4pm
Let's just say, that put me in a really good mood! So we decided to take Carter out for a spin in his new sled that my parents recently bought him.

One Hilarous Sign

So I have seen this sign a million times before and have cracked up laughing every time. How appropriate, right? Kuddos to the business owner that had enough balls to actually put it up. Surprisingly enough, it hangs in a cupcake place. Molly's Cupcakes which I tried out for the first time this week. I figure, I am pregnant........so that is a great excuse to try one of these cupcakes that I have heard great reviews about. Kendra and I split a "Cookie Monster" cupcake. It was a vanilla chocolate chip cupcake filled with cookie dough in the middle and topped with whip cream frosting and you got it...........a MINI CHOCOLATE CHIP cookie on top! What a great invention! I know I am going a bit overboard with the whole cupcake description, but hey I have been craving them these days!

Rigatoni Rocks

Carter, Kendra and I went to the Pasta Bowl restaurant on Tuesday night just because. This place is a little hidden gem in the heart of Lincoln Park. They have awesome pasta dishes and are dirty cheap! Carter like his mommy really likes the rigatoni bolganese.

Coloring the Book or My Hair

These days you never know if a crayon is going to be put to proper use.....like a coloring book OR if it will make it's way in a little persons mouth, face or hair.

The Clothing Swap

Recently Carter has grown very fond of all my maternity clothes both borrowed and new. He loves going into my closet and yanking the shirts off of the hangers and then trying them on. He has grown especially fond of a black and white shirt that my friend Megan has lent to me. I think the color contrast is what he likes and the fact that it has a tie on it. Anyways......I do want to thank friends Megan and Ildi for lending me so many nice maternity clothes. I promise to try and return them in mint condition! I can't speak for Carter though??

Cravings, Cravings and More Cravings

This pregnancy I have had a TON more cravings than I did with Carter. This baby boy likes the following:

Scallops
Sesame seed bagels and a TON of cream cheese
Dunkin Donut decaf french vanilla coffee
Chocolate cupcakes
Triscuits
Cheddar cheese
Green apples
Coconut sorbet
Orange Vitamin Water
Cinnamon and Cherry Jubilee Gummy Hearts (out only for V-Day)
Soft Pretzels
Panera Creamy Tomato soup
Special K yogurt & fruit cereal

So basically that is my diet these days. Especially the bagels! And judging from the size of my ever so growing belly I better start monitoring my intake!!!

The Potty Training begins

Carter and I went out today to the Right Start store to buy him his very own big boy potty chair. I decided to give it a try a little earlier than originally planned. For the past month he has been really good about telling me if he made pee or poop in his diaper, so I thought perhaps he is giving me a sign that he is ready to try. And what a GREAT 1st try it turned out to be! He went pee-pee in the potty 3 times tonight!!!! He was so excited to have a potty chair. It was such a positive experience. Now let's hope the love for the potty continues on like this! He must have sat on the thing 10 times tonight~

The Half Way Point

Well, today I am 20 weeks along in my pregnancy. So officially 1/2 way there! This pregnancy has much different than the first one. For example.........w/ the 1st pregnancy I wouldn't lift over 5 lbs. seriously, my brother in law Kevin can attest to that. With the 2nd pregnancy I have been carrying around a 27 lb. toddler daily, sometimes even up 3 flights of stairs when our elevator is broken which is a weekly occurrence and a whole other story in it's self! With the 1st pregnancy I did prenatal yoga. With this pregnancy I get my exercise by chasing around an active 22 month old. With the 1st pregnancy, I still went to the gym almost everyday to work out, with this pregnancy Carter's Gymboree class counts as my work out! With the first pregnancy, I used to take daily naps and sleep all weekend long. With this pregnancy, I catch about a 15 minute cat nap when the big brother is napping, once all my household chores are done and IF I am lucky enough to have the time. So, needless to say these last 20 weeks have been quite different than before. I do have to say though that they have gone by a lot faster and there is much less worry because I feel like an old pro now! Baby #2 is also much more active than Carter was in my womb thus far. I have been feeling little love kicks for the past two weeks, whereas with Carty I did not feel a kick until week 21. Darrell and I get to go next Tuesday for our ultrasound and hopefully find out the sex of the baby! So stay tuned! We will be sharing our wonderful news with all!
