My Brown Eyed Boys

Little Gavin was blessed to inherit his daddy's beautiful brown eyes! Everyone in my family has blue eyes (including Carty!) so Darrell has really been the only "brown eyed" person that I love. So now it is great to have a son with brown eyes too. I have the best of both worlds. A beautiful blued eyed boy, my Carty....and now my beautiful brown eyed boy Gavin. I am continued to be amazed at all the compliments I get about my boys and their eyes/eyelashes. Random strangers come up to me and tell me how beautiful their eyes are. I have a feeling they are both going to be teenage heartbreakers!

The Potty Pro

Carter is still going strong with going potty! He NEVER has accidents and is really good at telling mommy and daddy when he has to go potty. Typical male though when it comes to going "#2"
He likes to sit on the pot, take his time and read a few books!

Chef-Boy- R- "G"

Our little Chef-Boy-R-"G" How adorable is he? He had a fun time chewing on all the fake food that Carty cooked for him.

What a busy little chef! Now he has moved on to chewing the utensils!

Carter just loves that Gavin is able to sort of "play" now. He thought it was so funny to have the chef's hat on G!

BOYS, BOYS, BOYS

My boys. I love them endlessly. We have MANY days were I am purely exhausted and have had to endure countless tantrums, cries and refusals to sleep. However on days like in this picture I really stop and think about how lucky I am. I have two beautifully, healthy little guys! As a little girl I always invisioned myself being a mom of little girls. Maybe because I was such a girly, girly that is all I knew. I wanted to dress my little girls up in a pink and have a house full of dolls! So, obviously that did not happen for me and quite honestly I am SO HAPPY to have BOYS! Boys are so much fun. They bring out a side of me I never knew I had. It is fun to play with cars, get dirty and point out numerous trains, garbage trucks and firetrucks that pass us along the road. Boys are not delicate, not too whinny and they are not drama! Don't get me wrong they are ACTIVE, but fun. So incredible fun. In this day and age and the society we live in I think there is so much pressure on young girls that I feel sorry for them. I also feel for the parents that have to raise them! People always ask us "oh, so are you going to try for a girl now?" I think to myself, well no and what a silly question to ask. If we decide to try for a 3rd (that is to be determined not anytime soon!) it will not be in hopes of me having a female companion in the house. It will be because Darrell and I really want another child regardless of the sex. For now, though I feel blessed and wouldn't trade my burping, farting, active and rough housing boys for the WORLD!

Stats

Both boys had doctor appointments on Monday for just basic check ups. Dr. Bergquist was very impressed that Carty is already full potty trained and recited his ABC's to her. She was also very amazed by Gavin's head/neck strength and alterness.
Stats:
Gavin: 4months
14.5 lbs.
26.5 inches long

Carter: 2.5 yrs. old
30.5 lbs.
37.5 inches long

Poor Gavin had to get 3 shots and Carter got the "flu nasal spray." Let's just say I was very much thankful that my mom drove up and came to the appointment with me. As always, she was an amazing help/lifesaver! Thanks Mom!

"I love you Momma"

I just had to make sure I documented this very special memory. On Oct. 1st my little Carter told me for the first time that he loved me. It is amazing how much hearing those 3 words from your child mean to you. He was getting on the elevator to go somewhere with Darrell and as clear as day, no "prompting" required he shouted "bye momma...i love you!" After 2. 5 years of telling him these 3 words on a daily basis, it was now my turn to get them in return. So Carty thank you for making my day, my week, my year. Mommy loves you too... more than you know!
